E.M.B.E.R.S.East Mountain Baptist Early Retirees and Seniors DEFINITION: Embers are hot fragments of wood that are left from a fire and that are glowing. They are used to rekindle or start a new fire.
VISION: Rekindle our hearts as embers, fan the flames, and keep burning the gracious gift of God, the inner fire that is within each of us.
MISSION: Rekindle our passion for God, for everyone else in the world, and for our own lives and purpose.
EMBERS is a Senior Adult Ministry to fellowship in Christian love. We meet once a month for luncheons, games, or programs September through May. Each September we kick off our year with our annual catfish feast at David Beard's Catfish Village in Ore City. At Christmas we always have a fun party with food, games, the reading of the birth of Jesus, and Christmas carols. In the winter we have a chili and soup luncheon with games afterward, and at the end of May we have our annual trip to Mineola East Texas Burger Company. The luncheons in between are based on seasonal type meals and programs. In addition to monthly meetings, we have outing to places of interest in our area, such as museums, antique farms and homes, fall leaf hunting, Christmas light looking, gospel concerts, plays, IMAX, and other things of interest in our area. We like to socialize, eat out, and usually have Dairy Queen on the way home from an outing. Come join us for a great time! EMBERS Schedule*:click on the blue link for times and more details

Other ActivitiesIn addition to the monthly luncheons, we have special outings such as gospel concerts, plays, fall leaf hunting in Arkansas, Christmas light looking, museums, and other activities of interest to our group.
